A Senior Health Economist in our Health Analytics Practice Group, Matt has over a decade of experience working with government agencies and private payers, both within the US and globally, to improve health system performance. He provides strategic and analytic guidance to clients on financing policies that equitably and efficiently expand affordable healthcare coverage. Matt synthesizes best practices and distills complex, quantitative evidence in ways that help clients make decisions around provider payment systems, health insurance markets, and benefit design. He also leads analytic teams to evaluate and forecast the effect of such decisions on insurance coverage and spending.
In Matt’s previous role at a consulting firm he oversaw CMS/CMMI independent evaluations and state-wide policy initiatives, such as provider payment demonstrations and cost benchmarking. He also managed a team that redesigned national health insurance agencies and payment systems across Asia. Matt also held positions at a global multilateral organization and an academic institution. His work entailed evaluating state Medicaid managed care programs and identifying stabilization techniques across European insurance markets to inform healthcare legislation in the US.
