BerryDunn, a full-service assurance, tax, and consulting firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Hegreness, CPRE as a Senior Consultant in the Parks, Recreation, Libraries Practice. Over his 20-year career, Hegreness has served communities in five states, including Colorado’s largest parks and recreation district. His expertise encompasses strategic and master planning, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and cultural arts.
Known as an innovator and collaborator, Hegreness and his teams have been nationally recognized for their entrepreneurial ideas, creative programming, and intuitive marketing campaigns to build engagement in municipalities and park districts. “I’m interested in helping my clients use AI and other innovative technology to better serve the public through efficient operations and improved analysis,” he explains. “I believe our communities can overcome nearly every challenge and thrive with a creative and inclusive mindset.”

Parks and recreation is a passion for Hegreness, who grew up in a 65-acre community park. He currently serves on the Revenue Development and Management School Board of Regents, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and other organizations, providing professional development programs for state and local agencies. As a speaker and trainer, Hegreness helps agencies run more efficiently and think more broadly about operations and revenue generation. Delivering over 100 education sessions and keynote addresses across the US, he also co-managed a national marketing and social media conference on government innovation and has deep experience in marketing strategy and creative parks and recreation programming.
