01.12.23

The appointment continues the tradition of BerryDunn leaders serving the state of Maine

BerryDunn, a full-service assurance, tax, and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Todd Desjardins, the firm’s Quality Assurance Principal, has been named to the Maine Board of Accountancy. Todd’s appointment continues the tradition of BerryDunn leaders serving on the Board, replacing Tracy Harding, who served on the Board prior to his retirement in 2022. The Board is the state’s governing body for accountants and was established to protect the public through regulation of the practice of public accountancy in Maine.

Desjardins, who is also a Principal in the firm’s Financial Service Practice Group, said, “I am honored to be chosen for this position and to be contributing to the Board’s advancement of accountancy in the state of Maine.” Members of the Board are responsible for examining qualified applicants for a license to practice public accounting, promoting rules of professional conduct, and providing information about the CPAs, public accountants, firms and branches licensed by the Board.

Desjardins is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and has been employed by BerryDunn since 2009. His expertise in the financial statement audit process supports clients navigating complex issues, new pronouncements, and making the right choices where it matters most. A Certified Fraud Examiner, he is also involved in BerryDunn’s forensic accounting and fraud engagements.

Renee Bishop, the firm’s COO of Assurance, Tax, and Advisory Services, said, “I’m thrilled that Todd is continuing the tradition of BerryDunn’s leaders sharing their expertise and thought leadership to serve our Maine communities. It’s a testament to the caliber of our staff and their dedication to public service that they are consistently chosen as leaders to represent their fields.”
