Taking a 360° lifecycle approach to MITA

Client Description

West Virginia has been able to appropriately utilize all available federal funding and help improve how the agency operates and delivers care.

Challenge

In West Virginia, the Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) wanted to use its SS-A to help make organizational changes, improve processes, and fund and implement the technology needed to transform the state’s Medicaid enterprise.

Solution

BerryDunn’s experts worked with our client to:

  • Map BMS’ current organization, roles, and responsibilities, and provide recommendations to align staff expertise across core business functions
  • Utilize BerryDunn’s MITA Management Portal (MMP) tool to store and update SS-A information, while providing a real-time view of MITA maturity levels over the system lifecycle

Outcome

West Virginia has been able to track progress against the state’s MITA 3.0 roadmap, maintain a real-time view of MITA maturity levels, and appropriately utilize all available federal funding.
