06.03.19

BerryDunn is pleased to announce a new hire, Barbara Heller, to lead the company’s new Parks and Recreation Practice, providing a natural extension of the firm’s existing consulting services for local governments.

Heller brings to BerryDunn over 35 years’ experience in planning and management within Parks and Recreation. For the past nine years, Heller has been President of Heller and Heller Consulting, offering strategic and master planning, change management, financial analysis, feasibility studies, and service quality assessment.

“Joining BerryDunn allows me to leverage the resources and agile staff of a larger firm to serve my clients across the country. I was drawn to BerryDunn because the firm puts client success first, which directly aligns with my business values,” noted Heller.

BerryDunn’s new Parks and Recreation Practice marks a growth pattern in its existing Local Government Practice Group. The group provides services to all facets of Local Government including finance and administration, community development, public health, public safety, utilities, K-12 and information technology. The firm has clients in nearly all 50 states, with offices spanning the country from Portland, Maine, to Phoenix, Arizona, a hub for engagements in the West and Southwest, including Texas and California.

According to Chad Snow, Principal of BerryDunn’s Local Government Consulting Group, “We are proud that Barbara has chosen to join the BerryDunn team. She is a respected leader in this field for a reason—she brings smart, proven ideas to her clients that genuinely meet their unique needs. Like Barbara, we share knowledge to empower our clients to solve problems during and beyond the engagement. Barbara shares our values related to client service and her excitement and passion for serving clients made her a natural fit for the team and the firm.”

Heller is an active thought leader, regularly participating in speaking engagements and the National Recreation and Parks Association Directors School. In addition to Heller’s award-winning Parks and Recreation expertise, she has significant experience with engineering, landscape design, and architecture firms.

Heller joins BerryDunn as of June 4, 2019, and will be based out of Charlestown, Massachusetts.
