State receives approval to continue its work into implementation years

Client Description

With roadmap approval, Arizona can continue using its grant to gain feedback on how health information technology can be implemented in the CB-LTSS component of the Medicaid system.

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) was awarded a Testing Experience and Functional Assessment Tools (TEFT) planning grant to test quality measurement tools and demonstrate e-health in Medicaid community-based long-term services and supports (CB-LTSS).

Strategic planning steps

BerryDunn experts:

  • Assisted through visioning, SWOT analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify how members receiving CB-LTSS might use Personal Health Records (PHR) to direct their own care
  • Conducted a needs analysis and performed a comparison of commercially available PHR solutions to identify potential best fit options based on meeting minimum mandatory requirements
  • Assisted the state with development of a work plan (roadmap)

AHCCCS received CMS approval of the work plan required by CMS for Grant Years Two, Three, and Four.
