BerryDunn Principal Tracy Harding to Chair National AICPA Board

06.30.20

BerryDunn’s Director of Quality Assurance, Tracy Harding, is now Chair of the national Auditing Standards Board (ASB). Harding has served on the ASB, the senior committee for auditing, attestation, and quality control of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), for over two years.

“This is a tremendous honor. BerryDunn has worked with me to develop a plan that will allow me to do this new position justice while still ensuring the needs of the firm and its clients are met,” says Harding.

Since joining BerryDunn in 1984, Harding has served as an independent concurring partner reviewer on many audits, for both public and nonpublic organizations, and on various professional committees at the federal and state level. In addition to the ASB, he currently serves on the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy’s regulatory response committee and as the chair of the Maine Board of Accountancy, regulating licensing for all CPAs in the state.

“Tracy has tremendous technical skill, common sense, and unquestionable character. Our profession and its stakeholders are fortunate to have him leading the ASB.” says BerryDunn Managing Principal and CEO, John Chandler. “Speaking for the entire firm, we couldn’t be more honored to have him as a colleague, mentor, and friend, and are inspired by his leadership in our profession.”

The ASB sets auditing rules for private companies, not-for-profit entities, and state/local governments in the US, serving the public interest by developing, updating and communicating standards and practice guidance. The AICPA is the world’s largest member association for the accounting profession.
