BerryDunn Principal Appointed to the Auditing Standards Board

The Auditing Standards Board (ASB) has appointed Tracy Harding as a new member for the 2016-2017 volunteer service year. Harding will serve a 15-month term beginning in November. The ASB is the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) senior committee that issues auditing, attestation, and quality control statements, standards and guidance to CPAs for nonpublic company audits.

Harding is BerryDunn’s Director of Quality Assurance and the Bangor office coordinator for the firm’s Financial Services Group. He follows in the footsteps of his predecessor, Phil Crawford, BerryDunn’s previous Director of Quality Assurance, who also served on the ASB.

As a principal at BerryDunn for over 30 years, Tracy is a recognized expert and works as an independent concurring partner reviewer on many audits of public and nonpublic companies. He currently serves as the Chair of the Maine Board of Accountancy which regulates licensing for all CPAs in the state and previously served as an AICPA Risk Assessment Audit Guide Task Force member. He is also a member of the Regulatory Response Committee of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
